Stage three: the PIN
Send the door code from a lock you can actually trust.
Before check-in, the workflow sends directions, check-in instructions, and a door code that was generated for this guest and expires at checkout. There is no faster way to communicate "I have no idea what's happening at my own property" than asking someone how they're enjoying an apartment they are currently locked out of.
